Changing The Way People Divorce in Toronto
Musson Law helps people move forward in their lives by resolving the issues in their personal lives.
We have over 15 years of experience negotiating successful settlements without the need for court, even when challenging dynamics are at play. We do this through a combination of collaborative law, mediation, and arbitration.
Collaborative law is a process that is completely private where you work with a team of neutral professionals that are best suited for your case. When the parties commit to scheduling, attending, and preparing for collaborative meetings, this process can be much faster and less expensive than court. Your collaborative team could include people such as a child specialist or a financial specialist, as well as your lawyers.
being an active member of a group that works together, with each person adding a piece of contribution, to achieve a common goal.
Mediation brings in a neutral third party who assists negotiations without providing legal advice or advocating for either side. Lawyers may or may not be present at the mediation sessions, and if not then parties can consult with their lawyers between meetings. The mediator works with the parties to come to an agreement and draft the agreement for review, revision, and approval by each law team.
Arbitration is an out-of-court process that closely resembles a court hearing, but is private and tailored to your dispute as determined with your arbitrator. Generally, this route is less expensive, faster, and much more informal.
At Musson Law, we’ll work with you to determine the best process to help you resolve your family law issues and move forward.
